Ally and Amanda with Hall of Supreme Harmony. |
I thought it was crowded at the Summer Palace, but that turned out to be nothing compared to how busy it was at the Forbidden City. Jerri and I swore that on this trip we wouldn’t rush through things, and that paid off at the Summer Palace, but since we’ve been to the Forbidden City before and it was blazing hot today, we asked Nancy if we could go straight through and get the Cliff Notes version of details. She was very accommodating and going straight through proved to be a bonus because it took us into parts of the structure we missed last time when we entered some of the living quarters off to the side of the central axis. And actually my main goal of this part of the trip was to recreate the 2004 photo of Amanda with the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the background, which we did.
